From April to September it is considered the months where there is no rain and if there is a minimum. From September to March it is considered rainy months, being from January to March with more intensity. However this is the rainy season, there are days when not a drop of rain falls. Also in any season hail can fall, or snow so you have to be prepared for any situation and put on a good face.
Depending on your physical condition, the ascent walk can be from 2.5 hours to 4 hours and the same as the return one, we strongly recommend having a little preparation on walks to enjoy more of this excursion and thus avoid disappointments.
It is definitely mandatory to acclimatize before doing this route, remember that you will walk until you pass 5000 m.s.n.m and this demands a lot of physical and emotional effort especially for those who are not accustomed to hiking at high altitude. If you have medical problems, we recommend that you consult your doctor and indicate that you want or plan to take a walk in the Peruvian Andes and that the height is 5000 m.a.s.l. If you have medication, you should have this medication with you to continue your treatment.
If you have trouble walking or there are children on the excursion, we recommend hiring a horse (the residents of the area rent it) so that you can lighten your trip, remember that the horse can not take you all the time since there are very steep climbs to which should get off the horse and then continue on horseback or on foot.
